I am currently a part-time Year 1 MPH student concentrating on Health Economics, Policy, and Management. I am also a registered nurse with experience in the healthcare sector, having completed my Bachelor's degree in Nursing from HKU. My professional background has deeply influenced my interest in public health.
I decided to pursue a Master of Public Health (MPH) to broaden my understanding of public health issues and acquire the skills necessary to address these challenges at a systemic level. Specifically, my interest lies in understanding the economic aspects of healthcare, crafting effective policies, and managing health services to enhance the efficiency and equity of healthcare delivery.
Being granted the UGC Targeted TPg Fellowships was an incredible honor. It not only provided financial support, making it easier to focus on my studies, but also validated my commitment to public health. This fellowship has been a significant motivator, encouraging me to excel in my coursework and research.
One of the aspects I have enjoyed most during my MPH study has been the interdisciplinary approach to learning. Engaging with peers from diverse professional backgrounds has enriched my perspective and has been invaluable in understanding the multifaceted nature of public health issues.
Upon graduating from the MPH program, I aspire to work in public health policy development, focusing on areas such as health economics, policy-making, and management. I aim to leverage my clinical experience and newly acquired public health expertise to make a broader impact on healthcare systems and community health and well-being.
